We have a form below that you can download and print, and we have the questions arranged for you here on this site page so you can better understand why you would ask such of any potential waterproofing contractor.  You can always give us a call at (717) 438-3600 if you have any related questions. Consumer Protection Information (About The Industry) For Your Protection and Education

The following information is meant to be informative and is 100% factual in content. It is our intent to first and foremost educate and protect the consumer against fraudulent claims, misleading information, and scams made by waterproofing companies across the Mid-Eastern United States as well as challenge the industry to in-state laws, codes, and a high set of standards that YOU the consumer so rightly DESERVE.

Did you know???

  • The waterproofing industry, at present, does not have (nor has it ever had) any guidelines or codes developed, enforced, and/or instituted by any state, township, or municipality.
  • There’s no schooling, training, education, or certification of any kind active for the waterproofing industry.
  • There are no codes of ethics or conformity when it comes to the sales practices of the waterproofing industry.
  • The waterproofing industry is NOT governed by ANY state or local authority.

Difficult to believe??? HOWEVER, IT'S ABSOLUTELY TRUE!!

What does this mean to you, the consumer? Well, in essence, it gives the companies the ability to falsely claim to be PROFESSIONALS in an industry that has no standards!!! This opens the door for a wide array of unethical sales practices, faulty promises, and, most importantly, unskilled and misinterpreted installations along with INVALID WARRANTIES. Since codes and standards do not exist, this makes it possible for companies to promise and claim what they cannot deliver: A DRY BASEMENT.

  • Most Companies (not all) are franchises. What does this mean?? These companies operate as a NAME only. They have no credentials nor any equity in their business. This means an unqualified and, most often, an uninsured sub-contractor will be performing the work in your home - WHICH RELIEVES THEM OF ANY RESPONSIBILITY TO YOU!!!!!
  • This makes it easy to make false claims, price gouge, and outright lie about their service. And, guess what?? Without codes, enforcement, and standards, IT'S PERFECTLY LEGAL.
  • There are literally hundreds of patented waterproofing products on the market today that make it easier and easier for you to be scammed unless you are informed.
  • Work done by these companies will cause elevated Mold and Radon levels in your home.

What can you do??

  • Report immediately any suggestion of scams or pushy sales tactics to the Attorney General and Better Business Bureau.
  • Ask questions to be informed, get more than one estimate, and never sign a contract on the first day or be persuaded by ONE-TIME ONLY offers.
  • ALWAYS demand documentation of warranty with an estimate and signature. BUT BEWARE! READ IT CAREFULLY. It will not guarantee a DRY or WATERPROOFED BASEMENT!!!
  • Contact your DRY BASEMENT PROFESSIONALS for informative and detailed protection. We're here to protect you!!
